Congressional Budget Committees and Their Impact on the Department of Defense.

Abstract

Having altered the dynamics of the budget process since 1974, the Senate and House Budget Committees play an increasingly important and influential role in defense budgeting. This research analyzes the economic and political forces that created budget committees, explores the relationships between key players in the budget process, and defines the implications for DoD.
