Propylene Glycol Antifreeze Study.
Abstract
The use of propylene glycol (PC) base antifreeze in military vehicles is examined. Two approaches of adopting PG antifreeze into military maintenance practices are studied. The approaches include the use of a design specification and the use of a performance specification. For the design approach, a prototype PG antifreeze is field tested in several military vehicles. For the performance approach, five (5) commercial PG antifreezes are subjected to standard laboratory tests.
