Systems for an Interservice Exercise Measurement and Feedback System: List of Brigade Critical Combat Tasks for the Air Ground Training Feedback System.
Abstract
This study was designed to analyze the utilization of Close Air Support and develop training feedback tools which would provide a quantifiable basis for further training resource requirements. Information derived from this system could provide valuable insights into such areas as force structure and weapons mix, tactical procedures and techniques, and the methods and amount of required training. In addition, the data acquired from the field would be organized into a common database that would facilitate access to the information for all services as well as assist in development of future interservice training programs. There are three operational components of Close Air Support: The Tactical Air Control Party (TACP), the Air Forward Air Control (AFAC), and the attack aircraft. For purposes of this study only the command and control elements (the TACP and AFAC), which are primarily responsible for ensuring CAS synchronization and effectiveness, are addressed.
