Youth Attitude Tracking Study 1995: Propensity and Advertising Report.
Abstract
This report presents major findings form the Fall 1995 Youth Attitude Tracking Study (YATS) survey administration. Information in this report includes demographic characteristics, enlistment propensity (active and Reserve), military advertising awareness, and slogan recognition levels of American youth. The annual YATS series dates back to 1975 and continues to provide critical information about future plans and military perceptions of American youth. Approximately 10,800 interviews were conducted between September 11, 1995 and November 19, 1995 with respondents between the ages of 16 and 24 who had no prior military experience. Interviews were conducted using the computer assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) methodology and lasted approximately 30 minutes. The Fall 1995 sample was selected using a list-assisted random digit dialing (RDD) method and included an oversample of black youth.
