Upper Mississippi River System Navigation/Sedimentation Study. Report 1. Bank Erosion Literature Study.

Abstract

This literature search was conducted to obtain pertinent data and research regarding the process of bank erosion along the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS). References were identified pertaining to bank erosion resulting from flow velocity, flow quantity, secondary currents, bank materials and covers, wave energy from wind and navigation, and other forces resulting from navigation. References were from both studies on the Upper Mississippi River System and other similar alluvial rivers.
