Propagation Characteristics and Thermal Performance of Solid Particulate Aerosols.

Abstract

This research program had two main objectives: First, to improve the understanding of the physical and chemical mechanisms of flame suppression by pyrotechnically generated aerosols; particularly the aerosols generated by Spectrex Fire Extinguishments (SFE) A, B, and C manufactured by Spectrex, Inc. Second to investigate the heat release associated with aerosol generation and design a hand thrown cannister incorporating 500 grams of the pyrotechnique material.
