Review of Model Plans for the John F. Baldwin Ship Channel Project.

Abstract

The San Francisco Bay-Delta Physical Model simulates flows and salinities in the bay system. A TABS-MD numerical model of the system has been developed to assist in addressing salinity intrusion questions regarding the proposed John F. Baldwin Phase III navigation channel improvements. Questions posed by the U.S. Army Engineer District, San Francisco, have been addressed by the Committee on Tidal Hydraulics to help resolve the appropriate roles of the physical and numerical models.
