Abstract

'The Asia-Pacific region is currently the most economically dynamic region in the world, and on that basis alone its security would be critical to America's future.' East Asia-Pacific Region, February 1995'... there will always be a concern that today's peace and prosperity, if not carefully nurtured, could slip away. We have all welcomed the dynamic growth of the region, but this growth, stimulated by competition, can lead to new tensions.'
