A Selective, Annotated Bibliography on the Nations of South Asia.

Abstract

This bibliography contains citations of monographs and serial articles relating to the countries of the Indian Subcontinent: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The compilation is selective and is intended principally as a reference work for research on the foreign relations, government, and politics of the nations concerned. The bibliography covers works acquired, cataloged, published, or reported during the first 6 months of 1983. The user of previous bibliographies in this series may wish to note some changes in organization. This bibliography is divided into individual country sections plus an initial listing of South Asian material. Works relating to bilateral events or subjects are listed twice, once in each section of the country concerned. Works that are of multilateral or regional implication are listed once in the South Asia section. Each section, in turn, is subdivided into monographs and serials, with the view toward aiding the reader who wishes to identify quickly a longer treatment of a particular subject.
