SIFT and FALP Studies of Plasma Reaction Processes.

Abstract

The data acquisition and analysis techniques used with the Innsbruck SIFT and FALP apparatuses have been considerably refined, following which a detailed SIFT study has been carried out of reactions of halogen ions with Cl2 and Br2, and preliminary measurements of electron temperatures, electron energy distribution functions and electron attachment coefficients have been performed using the FALP apparatus. Following these developments and studies, the new data acquisition and analysis techniques have been successfully installed onto the FALP apparatus at the Phillips Laboratory Geophysics Directorate.
