Development and Implementation of An Information System for the Naval Postgraduate School International Programs Office

Abstract

The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) International Programs Officers (IPO) mission requires timely, accurate, and intensive information exchange with the outside military and civilian agencies to accomplish the goals of the Security Assistance and the Information Programs. Therefore its information infrastructure is becoming a vital key to the organization success or failure in performing its mission critical tasks. Currently the office achieves its goals to a great extent without taking advantage of an information system to support its administrative activities more efficiently. This thesis conducts a thorough analysis and documentation of the information requirements of the Naval Postgraduate School International Programs Office. Based on the requirements identified, the thesis develops and implements a series of functional computer applications which supports the NPS IPO administrative activities.
