Recommendations for Improving Joint Reception, Staging, Onward Movement, and Integration (RSOI).

Abstract

This study proposes specific doctrinal and force structure recommendations to enable the U.S. joint forces to more effectively and efficiently conduct Joint Reception, Staging, Onward Movement, and Integration (RSOI) in any geographic combatant command's area of responsibility (AOR). An analysis of current joint doctrine determined that there is very limited doctrine relating to Joint RSOI processes. This study makes specific recommendations for changes to, or the creation of new, doctrine. This study also makes recommendations relating to organizational structure which will improve the conduct of Joint RSOI operations. This study was conducted as Phase II of the Intratheater Lift Analysis (ILA).
