Database for the Second Macrodispersion Experiment (MADE-2).

Abstract

The content and organization of the database for the second macrodispersion experiment (MADE-2) are described. The study consisted of a large-scale natural-gradient tracer experiment conducted over a period of approximately 15 months. The tracers used in the experiment included tritium, Benzene, 14C labeled p-xylene, naphthalene, and o-dichlorobenzene. The experimental database includes five, three-dimensional snapshots of the aqueous concentration distribution for each tracer plume. Tracer time-series data are available for selected points aligned along two lateral rows (fences) within the sampling network. In addition to the tracer data, piezometric head measurements recorded during the study and hydraulic conductivity data derived from borehole flowmeter testing conducted prior to the tracer test are presented.
