Experimental Investigation of Alumina Particles Phase Transitions.

Abstract

This report is devoted to the description of the results of the experimental investigation of alumina particles phase transitions. Time dependence of spectral radiance of rapidly cooling (3000 K/sec) melted alumina particles was measured and analysed. Due to the cooling the particles were passing through different phase states during the measurements. Particle spectral radiance was measured in the wide spectral range from ultraviolet to near infrared region (0.26-1.6 micrometers) in the spectral intervals where different mechanisms are rresponsible for the particle radiation.
