Department of Defense Technical Architecture Framework for Information Management. Volume 1-8: Overview. Version 3.0.

Abstract

The TAFIM provides guidance for the evolution of the DoD technical infrastructure. The TAFIM does not provide a specific system architecture. Rather, it provides the services, standards, design concepts, components, and configurations that can be used to guide the development of technical architectures that meet specific mission requirements. This report presents an overview of the Technical Architecture Framework for Information Management (TAFIM). It relates information technology (IT) and information management (IM.) guidance published in the Department of Defense (DoD) directives, instructions, and manuals to the TAFIM. Volumes 1 thru 8.
