An International Symposium on Growth and Optical Properties of Semiconductors,

Abstract

The purpose of this symposium was to provide a forum for the discussion of recent developments in the growth and optical studies of III-V and II-VI semiconductors and their heterostructures. Both experimental and theoretical progress in the areas of synthesis, optical characterization and device applications was reviewed by an international panel of distinguished scientists. The future directions of research were discussed. The emergence of enormous interest in the study of wide bandgap semiconducting systems in recent years and rapid progress made in this area were among the highlights of this symposium. The Symposium was attended by about seventy scientists: from the USA, Japan, Germany and France.
