Xnice: A System for Assessing Network Identification Performance.

Abstract

This report describes a computer system for evaluating the ability of a network to detect and identify seismic sources. The program, called Xnice, for Network Identification Capability Evaluation running under an X-windows interface, has a complete graphics interface for setting the parameters of simulations and evaluating the results. The performance of both regional and teleseismic discriminants can be easily examined. We describe here the use of the program, including a manual, as well as several applications.
