Controlled Accelerated Life Testing.

Abstract

This report guides the reader through the step-by-step process of planning a controlled accelerated life test using combined simulated environments. The purpose is to reduce the time and cost to bring a system to the hardware maturity required to enter operational testing with reasonable confidence of success. The report states that simulation is a test, analyze, and fix process and is not intended to result in an operational hardware reliability prediction. The report also compares the strengths and weaknesses of the natural and simulated environments and where natural environments may be more time and cost effective than the simulated ones.
