Preparation of Chemicals and Bulk Drug Substances for the U.S. Army Drug Development Program.
Abstract
The purpose of the contract is to provide a variety of high purity chemicals and bulk drug substances for the U.S. Army Medical R & D Command. During the 12 months, eighteen assignments were completed. Compounds prepared and submitted include the antimalarial WR 238605, one metabolite of WR 238605, four potential metabolites of WR 242511, four pyridinecarbamates, one substituted benzenesulfonamide, two benzenesulfonyl chlorides, and a 3-deazapurine. In addition, racemic desbutylhalofantrine and WR 242511 were resolved to provide samples of the optically active enantiomers.
