(FY91 ASSERT): Graduate Assistantship to Supplement Air Force Grant.

Abstract

The aim of this training grant was to support the graduate education of Mr. Kenneth Williams, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Microbiology at Meharry Medical College. Mr. Williams completed 11 hours of formal instruction in his second year, bringing his total hours of didactic course work to 27. At that time, I made the regretable decision to leave Meharry Medical College. When informed of that situation, Mr. Williams decided that it was in his best interests to leave my laboratory and remain at Meharry under a different thesis advisor. Accordingly, Mr. William's financial support from this AASERT grant terminated on May 16, 1994. At the time that funding ceased, Mr. Williams lacked two courses from completing the formal course requirements for the advanced degree in his department.
