Bioluminescent Genetically Engineered Micro-Organisms for the Study of Biofilms.

Abstract

These studies illustrate the versatility and potential usefulness of this bioluminescent reporter plasmid for studying the roles of EPS in biofilm process and the effects of other environmental insults on these microbial biofilms. Future experiments should allow the cellular processes involved in microbially induced corrosion to be successfully Lo studied from a molecular point of view.
