A Functional Outcome (Disability) Study of Patients Treated for Low Back Pain Under the Chiropractor Health Care Demonstration Project at Naval Hospital, Jacksonville.

Abstract

The purpose of this Graduate Management Project is to provide a methodology to evaluate the outcome effectiveness of chiropractic treatment rendered to patients with lower back pain under the CHCDP. Using an Oswestry pain questionnaire, patient perception of functional disability from lower back pain was gauged before and after treatment was provided. Data analysis from 40 sample patients provided strong evidence to support this project's research hypothesis in that patient functional disability scores will improve over time as a result of chiropractic treatment for low back pain.
