Impacts of Defense Spending Cuts on Industry Sectors, Occupational Groups, and Localities Annex F to Adjusting to the Drawdown. Report of the Defense Conversion Commission,

Abstract

The report estimates the economic impacts on industries, localities, and occupational groups from reduced DoD purchases of goods and services between 1991 and 1997. The report focuses on gross changes rather than net effects. Gross changes in DoD's demand for goods and services and in defense-related jobs are those that result directly from changes in defense spending. The primary basis for the analysis is output obtained from the Defense Economic Impact Modeling System (DEIMS).
