High Power Blue-Green B-BaB2O4 Optical Parametric Oscillator.

Abstract

A high power, pulsed beta barium borate optical parametric oscillator pumped by a frequency tripled Nd:YAG laser has been constructed and characterized. Anti-reflection coatings, oscillation thresholds, pump pulse duration, pulsewidth reduction, and spectral linewidths have been evaluated. Output pulse energies of 29 mj and an average power of 0.27 watts has been achieved at 480 nm.
