Triplex Forming Therapeutic Agents for Breast Cancer.

Abstract

The overall goal of this proposal was to develop sequence specific DNA binding compounds which are targeted to the promoters of the c-myc, c-Ha-ras, and neu genes. Inhibition of expression of these genes, which appear to play an important role in the development of the malignant phenotype of breast carcinoma cells would be expected to inhibit cellular proliferation and possibly induce apoptosis.
