Department of Defense Costing References Web. Phase 1. Establishing the Foundation.

Abstract

This project was initiated in response to several factors: a commitment to continuously improve the Department of Defense (DoD) Business Process Reengineering (BPR) Program's "toolbox," feedback from BPR practitioners regarding experiences with functional economic analysis and Major Automated Information Systems Review Council requirements, and the Government Performance and Results Act of 1993. The DoD Costing References Web is designed to establish a foundation and central subject directory of useful and up-to-date costing information already published on the World Wide Web. Phase 1 costing references are mainly of interest to members of the DoD costing community. A follow-on phase will expand and extend the foundation and begin to address the costing reference needs of BPR practitioners. This report also discusses the project from a DoD information management perspective. Appendices include project participants contact information and a printed version of DoD Costing References Web's start page.
