Fourth SIAM Conference on Applications of Dynamical Systems, May 18-22, 1997, Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, Snowbird, Utah.
Abstract
This highly interdisciplinary meeting brings together a diverse group of mathematicians, scientists, and engineers, all working on dynamical systems and their applications. The themes were chosen to highlight those areas in which dynamical systems has recently made exciting progress and to provide a forum for discussion of future directions. In this symposium, topics included dynamics in undergraduate education, Hamiltonian systems, mathematical biology, noise in dynamical systems, spatio temporal chaos and synchronization. In addition, their applications in aerospace engineering, physics, mechanics, oceanography, lasers and fiber optics were also presented.
