Joint Manpower Process: Limited Progress Made in Implementing DoD Inspector General Recommendations.

Abstract

In November 1995, the Department of Defense (DOD) Inspector General (IG) reported significant deficiencies in DOD'S joint personnel requirements and management program and made recommendations for improvement. Section 509 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1997 directs us to assess and report on the completeness and adequacy of the corrective actions taken by the Secretary of Defense with respect to the matters covered in the IG'S report. This report responds to that mandate.
