Abstract

This program element supports National Research Council's Geotechnical Board activities to serve the national interests by investigating geotechnical issues of concern to government agencies and the public and making recommendations thereon; and to advance the development of geotechnical science and engineering through improvements in education, research, and practice and increased coupling among these elements; to enhance cooperation and transfer of technology among public and private organizations; and to enhance national and international cooperation and exchange of information among scientific, technical, and professional societies concerned with geotechnical issues. this report covers the Board's technical activities the period of 93-94.
