High Performance Human-Computer Interfaces

Abstract

Human interfaces to the computer have remained fairly crude since the use of teletypes despite the fact that computer, storage and communication performance have continued to improve by many orders of magnitude. How much better can we do? We will try to show in this presentation that an improvement of more than 10 times in effective bandwidth should be achievable.
