Abstract

These proceedings consists of referred papers presented at the USA - Russian workshop on "Shock Induced Chemical Processing", held 23-24 Jun 97 in St. Petersburg, Russia. The workshop was organized and supported from US Army Research Office. The purpose of the workshop provides a professional forum for a broad exchange information and ideals on defect generation under shock loading. Chemical reaction under shock loading issues were additionally presented as a critical area requiring further investigation. The workshop also highlights the issues with a focus on the synthesis of new materials under shock loading. In this workshop, computer modeling topic was also detailed discussed.
