Measurement of Adsorption Equilibria for 2,2-Dichloro- 1,1,1-Trifluoroethane on Activated Carbon

Abstract

Adsorption equilibria were measured for 2,2-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoroethane (R-123) on BPL activated carbon at three temperatures (348, 398, and 448 K) over a wide range of partial pressures. Special care was given to developing a system to accurately measure equilibria data at elevated temperatures. The data is compared to isotherm equilibria data measured under the same conditions using a different apparatus at the U.S. Army Edgewood Research Development and Engineering Center (ERDEC).
