Computational Methods for Electromagnetic Scattering and Structural Phase Transitions.
Abstract
Computational algorithms for electromagnetic scattering and structured phase transitions are investigated. For scattering, three contributions are presented: (1) Analysis of spurious offset fields, (2) the use of divergence boundary conditions, (3) analysis of covolume (unstructure FDTD) algorithms with estimates of convergence rates. For structural phase transitions adaptive mesh techniques are combined with finite dimensional optimization algorithms to compute new global minimizers for martensitic phase transformations.
