Evaluation of Post-Treatment Filter, Part 4: Predicted Stack Gas Filtration.

Abstract

Application of an activated carbon based vapor removal system for stack gas from an incinerator is considered. Several low volatility, highly toxic compounds of great interest for filtration behavior are the polychlorinated dibenzodioxins and dibenzofurans (TetraCDD and TetraCDF). Adsorption equilibria is described by extending the potential relationship into the Henry's Law regime. Design implications for fixed bed and injection technology are reconciled using a CSTh type model to describe reported TCDD and TCDF industrial scale filtration data.
