Construction of a Connectionist Network Supercomputer.

Abstract

This report provides an indepth examination of the accomplishments of the recently completed CNS project. Research contributions of this project span a wide range of fields: digital microsystems design, computer architecture, multiprocessor system design, neuromorphic analog processing, parallel programming languages, and neural network applications. Though numerous conference presentations and peer-reviewed journal articles, these advances have had broad impact in the university, industrial, and government communities. The research project also served to train many graduate students in a variety of disciplines in computer science, electrical engineering, and related scientific disciplines.
