Nuclear Effects Data Management and Analysis System (NEDMAS)

Abstract

This report describes the functionality and usage of experimental software written to facilitate access to DSWA archival data collected from U.S. above ground nuclear tests. Specifically, it provides a detailed description of the version of NEDMAS that has been implemented at Maxwell Federal Division, Inc.'s Reston, Virginia office and installed at DSWA Headquarters as part of the DARE effort. In its current configuration, the system contains a database of approximately 1000 pressure time series from 24 events in 3 series, as well as some preliminary fireball photography, cratering data, and ground motion data, comprising altogether about 6MB of data. An overview of the functionality of the software is presented in the main body of the text; installation and startup instructions, a sample session, and a comprehensive reference are presented in appendices.
