Translation and Glossary of Bulgarian Statistical Yearbook 1959

Abstract

This report contains statistical data on the development of Bulgaria in all economic, cultural and public fields of life during recent years. The majority of the tables included give data for 1939 and 1948-1958. In cases where data for previous years was unavailable, the column headings begin with the years for which data was available. For a very limited number of tables, data for 1958 was not completed by the time the yearbook went to press. Comparative data for certain foreign countries has been included. At the beginning of each section, the source of the data and a short methodological explanation, which should be referred to in using the yearbook, are given.
