Symmetric Analysis

Abstract

Symmetric analysis is based on force on force simulations conducted on symmetric terrain, obtained by reflecting a rectangular digital terrain database around one of its boundaries. Many of the input variables (e.g., forces, starting positions, and mission objectives) are the same for both sides. Only the experimental variables are different. This document introduces the concept of symmetric analysis, describes its benefits, and illustrates its application.
