Appropriations for FY1996: Defense

Abstract

This is one of a series of CRS Reports on FY1996 appropriations and the annual defense appropriations bill, which provides funds for military activities of the Department of Defense. The Clinton Administration requested $236.4 billion for activities covered by the FY1996 defense appropriations bill. The report discusses the Congressional debate that focused on several major weapons programs, including Army helicopters, the Seawolf submarine, the B-2 bomber, and ballistic missile defense.
