History of Current U.S. Rapid Obscuration Systems

Abstract

This report documents the history of armored vehicle smoke/obscurant protection using grenades and dischargers in rapid obscuration systems in the United States. The history begins with the response to the Arab-Israeli conflicts and the threats of the 196Os and ends with the technology and hardware advances made to deal with threats of the year 2000.
