Final Environmental Impact Statement. Realignment of F/A-18 Aircraft and Operational Functions from Naval Air Station (NAS) Cecil Field, Florida, to Other East Coast Installations

Abstract

This Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) addresses the environmental issues associated with the realignment of FIA-18 aircraft (i.e., fleet squadrons and the Fleet Replacement Squadron FRSJ) and operational functions from Naval Air Station (NAS) Cecil Field, Florida, which is scheduled to close, to other Navy and Marine Corps air stations on the East Coast. This proposed realignment is associated with the Navy's implementation of the 1995 mandated list of realignments prepared by the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission. The proposed action consists of the transfer of 11 FIA-18 fleet squadrons (132 aircraft) and the FRS (48 aircraft) (180 total aircraft) from NAS Cecil Field.
