Theoretical and Computational Investigation of Nonlinear Dynamical and Chaotic Properties of Plasmas

Abstract

The study of the nonlinear dynamics of electron beam propagation through a periodically focussed solenoidal channel has resulted in the characterization of the preconditions necessary for the formation of beam halos. The halos are populated by chaotic particles, born from orbital instability within the interior of the electron beam.
