World View: The 1998 Strategic Assessment from the Strategic Studies Institute.

Abstract

This monograph provides both individual forecasts and a collective review of the key security issues facing the United States by the analysts of the Strategic Studies Institute. Regional security forecasts are included for Europe, Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eastern Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Southwest Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America. The analysts also assess the future in light of the Quadrennial Defense Review and the Report of the National Defense Panel. In addition, Army issues, the future, and the Army After Next are discussed.
