Accelerated Solvent Extraction of Soil Samples for the Determination of the Presence of Chemical Warfare Breakdown Products.

Abstract

Allegations concerning the use and/or manufacture of chemical warfare (CW) agents in recent years has been of interest to many countries. The presence of OW agents, precursers, and decomposition breakdown) products in the environment has been studied by various collection and extraction means. This report details the work performed in the extraction of OW breakdown products from three types of standard soils, using the Dionex ASE 200 Accelerated Solvent Extractor and the Zymark TurboVap LV Evaporation System.
