Free-Flight Probe for Plasma Diagnostics.

Abstract

Research was carried out on the development and application of a new diagnostic technique the Free Flight Probe.(FFP)-to measure magnetic fields in the interior 0 hot plasmas. Data obtained for both vacuum and plasma fields using this diagnostic on the UW Helicity Injected Tokamak was analyzed to determine n=1 mode structure. Tho response function of the diagnostic's ellipsometer was investigated analyticaly and experimentally.
