This GAO report provides information to assist the Subcommittee in its oversight of DoD financial operations to include: DoD's rationale for creating the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS); the current size of DoD's finance and accounting infrastructure; and the various finance and accounting activities performed by DoD personnel.
