Defense Financial Management.

Abstract

The DoD's financial management systems, practices, and procedures contain several weaknesses. These weaknesses fall into six categories; lack of an integrated financial management system structure, an unreliable means of accumulating actual cost data inaccurately accounting for billions of dollars in disbursements, the need to upgrade financial management workforce and organization, the breakdown in basic control procedures, and unnecessary bureacratic practices.
