ADDRESSING THE DEFICIT: Updating the Budgetary Implications of Selected GAO Work

Abstract

This report is part of GAO's continuing effort to help the Congress identify options that could be used to reduce the deficit. It updates GAO's previous work in this area with new information and systematically identifies in a single document the budgetary implications of selected program reforms discussed in their work but not yet implemented or enacted. As in previous reports and testimony, all of the options are based on key findings and issues developed in GAO's reviews and evaluations.
