Second Quarterly Monitoring Report for the Former Fire Training Area Deliverable 2B.

Abstract

The Installation Restoration Program was initiated by the Air National Guard (ANG) to evaluate potential contamination to the environment caused by past practices at its installations. The Preliminary Assessment (PA) identified the location of a former Fire Training Area (FTA). Closure activities in Aug 1995 included placement of a cap. State regulations in this karst area require 30 years of monitoring of the surface water at a nearby spring. This report provides results for the 2nd contracted quarter of the 2nd year of monitoring. Samples were collected from Duck Spring on 8 Aug 96 and all analytes were below detection limits. The suite of analytes includes: VOCs, SVOCs, PCBs, dioxin, and TAL metals.
