DoD Materiel Management Regulation

Abstract

This Regulation is reissued under authority of DoD Directive 4140.1, Materiel Management Policy, January 4, 1993. It prescribes procedures on the uniform management of DoD materiel. DoD 4l40.1-R, "DoD Materiel Management Regulation," January 1993, is hereby canceled. This Regulation applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD); the Military Departments; the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Joint Staff; the Unified and Specified Commands; the Inspector General of the Department of Defense (IG, DoD); the Defense Agencies; and the DoD Field Activities (hereafter referred to collectively as "the DoD Components"). This Regulation is effective immediately; it is mandatory for use by all DoD Components.
